Timmons Park (8 courts) reopens on Thursday, Nov. 4 and that’s where most players will be playing in the mornings and evenings. Southside Park will reopen later this year with 12 courts. The Senior Centers in Mauldin (3 courts) and Simpsonville (4 courts) have organized play during the day. Phyllis Wheatley Community Center (3 courts) has indoor morning play on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Sterling Community Center (3 courts) has indoor play on Thursday nights. While not listed on our organized playing calendar, you will most likely find morning and evening play at Pope Field in Easley and at the Anderson Sports Complex in Anderson. There are many other places where you will find indoor and outdoor play in the greater Greenville, SC area.
If you know of more organized play that is not listed on our calendar, please email John Moore.
Rain played havoc on the 2019 Greenville Spring Smash. We made a tough decision in canceling Mixed Doubles. We also endured two rain delays to get in Women’s & Men’s Doubles play on Saturday. Players were patient and understanding throughout and the competition on the courts was intense.
The inaugural Greenville Pickleball Spring Smash is in the books. Over 130 players participated in the tournament. Rain almost washed out Mixed Doubles play on Friday but the sun shined and matches were played despite 20 mph wind gusts. Ah, but Saturday… glorious day for Pickleball. Little to no wind and lots of spring sunshine.
